Summary

dartroom.me is a darts scoring and practice app. We keep data minimal: room data, match history, account identifiers, profile/reward settings, and limited access-control data. We do not record or store your voice or video streams.

What we collect

  • Account identifiers: a Firebase UID. If you sign in with Google or Apple, your display name, email address, and profile photo may be used to create or show your profile where available. If you choose a username, that username may be shown publicly in profiles, rooms, friends, and match records.
  • Profile and reward settings: selected emblems, frames, banners, profile titles, DartPass rewards, premium/beta access flags, and related account preferences.
  • Room data: room name, settings (public/private, start score, best-of), player names, and scoring state needed to run the game.
  • Match history: summary stats such as averages, darts thrown, busts, and winners so you can view your recent matches.
  • Turn Cam and Voice access data: if you complete the age check for Turn Cam and Voice, we collect the date of birth you enter, whether you accepted the feature rules, and whether the account is allowed to use those features. This information is kept in a private account record and is not shown on your public profile.
  • Smart scoring and setup tools: setup checker photos are processed on your device. Smart Score Beta may send a dartboard capture to our server for temporary model analysis. Smart Score captures are deleted after analysis and are not used as public profile data.
  • Beta access requests: if you request Android beta access, we store the Google Play email you submit and the request status so access can be managed.
  • Analytics: if analytics are enabled, we collect aggregate usage events, page views, approximate device/browser information, and anonymized IP data to understand reliability and feature usage.
  • Safety and enforcement data: if Turn Cam or Voice access is restricted for age-gating or misuse reasons, we may retain restriction status and related account safety data to enforce those rules.

Voice and camera

Voice and camera features use WebRTC peer-to-peer connections. We do not store audio or video streams. Signalling data such as connection offers and candidates may be temporarily stored in Firebase to establish live connections between participants.

Turn Cam and Voice are only intended for users aged 18 or over. The date of birth you enter for this feature is used to decide whether the account is eligible. Users under 18 can still use other parts of the app, but not Turn Cam or Voice.

How we use your data

  • To create and run rooms, matches, invites, profiles, and stats.
  • To keep usernames unique and show the name associated with your account.
  • To determine whether Turn Cam and Voice are available for your account.
  • To manage DartPass rewards, premium/beta access, and app feature availability.
  • To improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand which features are being used.
  • To enforce our safety rules, including 18+ restrictions and misuse bans for Turn Cam and Voice.

What we do not store

  • We do not store voice recordings.
  • We do not store video recordings.
  • We do not permanently store Smart Score throw-board captures after analysis.
  • We do not make your date of birth public on your profile or in rooms.

Service providers

We use Firebase for authentication, database, account records, and live room data. The site is hosted on web hosting infrastructure such as Vercel. If Google Analytics is enabled, it is used for aggregate app analytics with IP anonymization.

Cookies and local storage

Firebase may use browser storage to keep you signed in. If you play anonymously, your anonymous UID may persist on this device until cookies or site data are cleared. We may also store lightweight local state related to sign-in or app preferences.

Data retention

Rooms include timestamps (activity/expiry) and may be removed or become inaccessible after inactivity. Match history is retained to show your stats. Turn Cam and Voice access records, including age-gating and restriction status, may be retained so we can enforce eligibility and permanent bans tied to those features.

Your choices

  • Play anonymously (no Google or Apple sign-in required).
  • Use a nickname instead of your real name.
  • Choose not to use Turn Cam or Voice at all.
  • Clear site data in your browser to reset anonymous stats.
  • Request account or data deletion using our account deletion page.
